8 Look at the picture below, what is it ? What is it made of ? What its purpose is ? How it works ?( Find out the answers from page 25)

9 It is a greenhouse; It is made of glass; It is used for growing plants, especially during cold weather. The glass traps the heat from the sun and keeps it from escaping so that plants grow better.

10 Read the passage quickly, answer the following questions: Who wrote the magazine article? What’s the name of the magazine? What are the names of the three scientists mentioned in the article? What are the two graphs about? What’s the main topic of the article?

11 Answers : Sophie Armstrong. “Earth Care”. Dr Janice Foster, Charles Keeling, George Hambley. The first graph shows the temperature of one degree Fahrenheit between 1860-2000. The Second graph shows the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere from 1957-1997. Global warming/ the warming of the earth.

17 Divide the passage into three parts and write down the main idea of each part. –Part 1( Para 1): There is a fierce debate over what has caused this global warming. Part 2 (Para 2-5) Some scientists think that global warming could be serious. Part 3 (Para 6) Some think that we should not worry much about global warming. Part 4 (Para 7): No one knows what is the effects of global warming will be.
