4 MOUNTAINS: There are many mountains in Catalonia. » Pirineus are situated in the north of Catalonia. In winter the mountains become very attractive for the tourist. You can practise snow, ski and other winter sports.

5 COASTS: The most famous coasts in Catalonia are: » Costa Brava, in Girona » Costa Daurada, in Tarragona. They are famous because their marine fauna is amazing and we can go diving.

6 There are many buidings of great architectural value in Barcelona: Medieval buildings, Modernists, Modern,etc

8  The language spoken in Catalonia is Catalan. Catalan is a Romanic language and is spoken by nine millions of people. This is the Catalan flag. That Catalan Mediterranean food is rich and varied but one of the most important Catalan dishes is tomato spread on a slice of bread and on top you can have jam. It is a very simple but tasty dish.

9  One of the most interesting tradition is “Correfocs” People disguised as as devil run while shooting fireworks. It represents happiness, and they dance while drummers play. In Barcelona you can see them in September at “the Mercè”.

10 NATIONAL DAY  Catalonia’s national day is celebrated every 11 th of September and commemorates the defeat of the Catalan troops against the Spanish in the year 1660

11 o That’s a Catalan word that means castles– they are a cultural phenomenon particular to Catalonia and consist of erecting human towers. This tradition originated at the end of the 18th century in Valls, Tarragona, when rival groups of people called colles, compete in constructing the different kinds of human towers.

13  Now we are talking about the location of our highschool. Our highschool is in a perfect position since it is connected to the Metro, Tram and Train in the city of Cornellà.

14  Cornellà is very near Barcelona, which is the condal city of Catalonia. This region is located in the north east of Spain.

15  In conclusion, our high school is placed in Cornellà, near Barcelona, which is in Catalonia. Therefore, it is in the north east of Spain.

16  The name of our school is Francesc Macià because he was a President in Catalonia.

17  We have a gym. Our gym is also a show room where we celebrate special days like carnaval or different meetings

19  In the canteen some students have lunch, but everyone can have a coffe or a chocolate bar in the playtime, because there are two vending machines.  It’s a little place, but it’s ok for staying there for a while.

21  In Francesc Macià there are 2 playgrounds:  In the north playground you can play football and basket, but in the south playground you can only play football.  We love our playgrounds!

23  In our school, we have got two chemistry laboratories.

24 There is equipment for scientific research and experiments.

26  This is one classroom, it is a typical classroom of our high school

27  This is an art classroom where we draw.

28  This is the music classroom where we play instruments, and where we practice for the concerts.

31 This year in Les Planes de Son we went to the Pyrenees with the high school.

32 There we went to the wildlife center to observe animals in semi-captivity.

33 We did an activity about seeing the stars at night. It was beautiful! In the city it’s impossible to see all these stars.

34  Travel at the end of the year in 4th ESO!

35  Boys and girls of 1st and 4th of ESO.

36  End of1st Batxillerat: we travel to London with our English teachers!

37  We go to Italy the last year in our high school: It’s a goodbye trip 

39  Comenius is a European project where students from different contries travel together to different places in Europe.  In 2011 four students from this high school traveled to Portugal.

41  Last year we went to Paris in an exchange with French students. We spent a week with them after their previuos visit and stay in Barcelona with our families. It was GREAT!!!!

47  THE SPORTS DAY IS ONE DAY IN WHICH A FEW COURSES PRACTICE DIFFERENT SPORTS AND PLAYS, WHICH ARE DONE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AND IN THE SOCCER FIELD OF CORNELLÀ.

48  ONE SPORT IS BASKETBALL. IT IS PRACTISED IN THE NORTH PLAYGROUND

49  WE ALSO PLAY A GAME CALLED “THE GAME OF THE CHAIRS ".

50  ANOTHER SPORT THAT WE PRACTISE IS VOLLEYBALL. A SPORT THAT IS PLAYED IN THE SOUTH PLAYGROUND.

51  WE ALSO PLAY FOOTBALL IN THE CORNELLÀ FOOTBALL FIELD

52  ANOTHER GAME THAT WE PLAY IS " THE GAME OF THE HANDKERCHIEF”. IN THE PICTURE YOU CAN SEE HOW WE PLAY IT.

53  PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS

55 Carnival in our high school is very funny. Some of us wear a fancy dress and the bravest students go on stage so that we all can see them. Winners always get an award: a bag of sweets or a free ticket to Port Aventura.

56  In our high school we also celebrate a foam party when the summer comes.

59  Every year when classes are over we spend one day in Port Aventura. Port Aventura is a funny thematic park where you spend all day

60  It's fun assured, there are many impressive ways to go: Dragon khan, Estampida..  It is always an incredible day!
