Draw response “Diary-type” Bring journals to life! Can be used to create plays, debates, stories, songs, art displays… Graded on effort. All who sincerely try will receive credit.

4 Chapters I-2 Response Topics
When Ponyboy left the movie theater and was jumped by the Socs, he was deeply afraid. Describe the kinds of fears you have felt. Greasers and Socs were different from each other, and this difference caused many fights. How would you feel if you were a Greaser? How would you feel if you were a Soc? Which character you relate to? Darry’s high expectations How would you react in Cherry’s shoes at the movies?

Ponyboy decides to run away. Why? Did he have good reason to? Have you ever decided to run away? Why? Johnny killed Bob. Was it self defense? What would you have done? What will happen?

Are Johnny and Ponyboy heroes? Have you ever been someone’s hero? Johnny and Ponyboy have differing opinions on Dally. What is your opinion of Dally? Who do you agree with? Johnny decides to go back home and confess. Is this a good idea? What would you do?

Ponyboy might get sent to juvenile court and then separated from his brothers and put into a boys’ home. When have you been scared of being separated from someone important to you? Sandy’s family won’t let her marry Sodapop because they are too young. Do you think her parents were right? Should love have an age limit?

Johnny refuses to see his mom when she visits him in the hospital. Why would she come to visit him? Should he have seen her? Was it right of Two-Bit to say what he said to her? Johnny wanted to see his friends in the hospital. Who would you want to see. The rumble is that night! Would you be part of it after all that had happened? Why or why not?

Ponyboy was saddened by the fact that Darry and the first Soc used to be friends and now fought with hatred. Share a similar experience. Dally escaped the hospital to be at the rumble. Would you be at the rumble after everything that had happened? What is worth fighting for?

Ponyboy was passed out and delirious for several days. What’s the sickest you’ve ever been? Ponyboy didn’t want to remember what had happened to his friends. Have you ever wanted to forget something so badly? Ponyboy was worried about his schoolwork and sports. If you missed so many days of school, what would you be worried about?

26 Chapter 11 Reflection Ponyboy could not believe it when Randy said he never should’ve gotten mixed up in the whole situation. He thought he had it bad? Ponyboy had way more problems than Randy did! Have you ever been told by someone that they knew how something was when really they could never understand what you are going through? Ponyboy tried convincing Randy that he had killed Bob, not Johnny. Would you testify on behalf of your friend, just to save their honor?

Look over and correct all other illustrations to be handed in and graded AS A PROJECT GRADE this Friday 5/17/13
