4 Magnet Program Expectations  Strive for excellence in all academic work  Maintain a 3.00 Academic GPA (Math, Science, Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies)  Note: Field trips, science camp, and other Magnet privileges depend on maintaining a 3.00 Academic GPA.

5 Magnet Program Expectations  Show respect and courtesy to all students, teachers, administrators, and staff members  Be responsible for taking good care of all equipment, materials and supplies  Observe the Homework Policy, completing all assignments neatly, accurately and on time, and making up any work missed during absences

6 Magnet Program Expectations  Actively participate in the program classes and activities so that the learning of all students in the program and at Columbus Tustin Middle School is enhanced  Comply with the Tustin Unified School District and Columbus Tustin Middle School policies for Discipline, Attendance, Academic Honesty, Dress code and Conduct  Actively participate in all Magnet Fundraisers

7 Field Trips  Modjeska Canyon/Casper’s Park ($50)  Crystal Cove ($50)  Ca ScienCenter, IMAX, Special Exhibit ($35)  Bowers Museum (when exhibit reflects standards) ($35) Note: Costs are subject to change and include program, bus, parking, substitute costs

8 Camp  Raintree Camp ($400)  Julian, CA  5 days, 4 nights  Team building, survival skills, animal tracking, rock climbing, archery, skits, environmental studies  Camp attendance requires commitment by October 31 Note: Costs are subject to change, and include program, lodging, meals, bus, substitute costs

9 Funding  The Magnet Program receives no district funding for field trips and camp; these programs are made possible through:  fundraising efforts of the Magnet Boosters  parent donations

10 Fundraising Opportunities  Tiller Days  Winter See’s Candy  Spring See’s Candy  Butter Braid  Casino Night

11 Fundraising Donations  For individuals that choose NOT to fundraise, a convenient donation plan with monthly collections is available
