Great Pacific Garbage Patch An other hot spot of pollution is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. There, the sea is covered by plastic. Plastic lasts for more than 450 years. Every year 6’000’000 tons more are thrown into the sea worldwide. Source Wikipedia, marynelittergyre

We need to reduce, reuse and recycle! A good way to reduce garbage: Let’s use shopping bags!

How can we create new shopping bags out of recycled packing materials?

We cut plastic bags into ribbons

We glue the ribbons one to the other with the heat of an iron

Then we put the ribbon around the fly-shuttle

More fly-shuttles are ready

We weave it on a loom

Another idea to create a shopping bag…

…using milk packs

We cut them into ribbons

After glueing one ribbon to the other with the heat of an iron, we start to bind them to a shopping bag

Here they are, our sustainable shopping bags

Don’t forget your shopping bag at home when you go shopping.

You can avoid plastic bags and help reduce garbage.
