4 Tiananmen Square Protests China (Beijing) Started after death of Hu Yaobang general secretary wanted more voting and people choice Student protests started Wanted: -Reform and Freedom (Economy and Press) -Liberalization -Democracy

5 Tiananmen Square Protests Government refused demands Protests started to escalate Riots Military was sent in to clear the square Opened fire on protesters Rest of the world saw this and criticized China's actions.

6 The Anti-Apartheid movement South Africa Apartheid = government enforced segregation Government run by whites Blacks treated like dirt Boycott International Involvement Olympics UN Were eventually successful.
