2 Answer The study of the earth and everything in it. The study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by these, including the distribution of populations and resources, land use, and industries.

1) Use longitude, latitude, and scale on maps and globes to solve problems 2) Collect and analyze data to interpret regions in the Western Hemisphere 3) Ask multiple types of questions after examining geographic sources 4) Interpret and communicate geographic data to justify potential solutions to problems 5) Distinguish different types of maps and use them in analyzing an issue

1. Classify and analyze the types of connections between places 2. Identify physical features and explain their effects on people in the Western Hemisphere 3. 9 Vocab Topographic Map: A topographic map shows different physical landscape featuresthey use contour lines instead of colors to show changes in the landscape. spaced at regular intervals to show elevation changes (e.g. each line represents a 100 foot (30 m) elevation change) and when lines are close together the terrain is steep.
