2 Powerpoint Templates Page 2 Why Bread goes Moldy Spores in the air land on bread and over time the moisture in the air and bread as food source activates the spores to release chemicals that make the food rot and allow the mold to grow. Even if you cut out the moldy area, you will not be able to see how deeply the mold has grown in the bread as the spores are not visible to the eye. If you eat Moldy bread, you will most likely get a stomach ache, depending on the type of mold and your health.

To grow indoors, mold needs moisture and food –Moisture is the most important factor –It needs nutrients - or food, to grow Temperature and light is not important; different molds like different conditions.

Mold can damage buildings, furniture and rot wood. Are used in the production of some foods (blue cheese), (soy sauce), drinks (citric acid in soft drinks), antibiotics (penicillin). Improve soil condition for farmers.

They multiply by producing microscopic spores that can float in the air great distances. The spores cannot be totally eliminated indoors but without moisture they will not grow. When frozen, spores become dormant then wake up when re heated.
