6 4 weeks program June 4th to July 1st 2012 Objective To contribuite with citizenship development, social consciousness and sustainable involvement of the participant students, while showing them the side of Mexican poverty and the possibility of their involvement in improving this and other parts of the world

7  4 hours every day of the Socio Political Mexican Structure Course - into the Campus – at morning Mexico’s historic and political frame Mexico’s geographic and demographic structure Mexican culture manifestations and more...  3 hours scheduled social work - in the Social Incubator – in the evening Social courses as basic computer, health, how to start your own business, personal finances, basic English for a daily life  2 weekends to visit Mexico City, Puebla and the Teotihuacan Pyramids (optional, transportation included) WEEK 1 & 2

8  Full inmersion in the community To develop several projects in order to help the population  First 3 days to know the community and its people To plan a project of social work with the help of local actors  Create and develop a project of social work & sustainable development The project will include: objectives & strategies. The students will have liberty to propose specific courses of action and new goals  Two weekends to visit Guanajuato and Querétaro (optional, transportation included) WEEK 3 & 4

9 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2012 Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Hidalgo Home of the Tolteca culture Pachuca, the capital, was a British colony due to the importance of the silver mining in the region Key point in the central Mexico, extremely close to Mexico City, Puebla, Querétaro and among others Very safe localization in the center of Mexico 1 Hr. from Mexico City 1 ½ Hrs. from Puebla 2 Hrs. from Queretaro 2 ½ Hrs. from the beaches in the State of Veracruz 1 Hr. from the Pyramids of Teotihuacan PACHUCA, HGO.

11 RURAL COMMUNITY HUIXCAZDHÁ Located in Hidalgo, 15 minutes from Huichapan, and 30 minutes away from Querétaro. It has 600 inhabitants. It is very safe, calm and is very close to cities with all the accommodation requirements. Huixcazdhá is a harmless community with outstanding people, and a high degree of respect and care for Tec de Monterrey and its guests. In 2010 with the presence of Harvard, Yale and MIT students, we inaugurated a CCA (Learning Community Center) which has been a great success in the community.

12 Classes and permanent tutor Housing in Pachuca and Huixcazdhá Meals (all dinners in Campus Hidalgo; breakfasts and dinners in the Hotel in Huixcazdhá) Local and touristic transportation (Mexico City Airport-Hidalgo Campus- Mexico City Airport / Hidalgo Campus- Huixcazdhá-Hidalgo Campus / transportation for optional trips to Mexico City, Puebla, Guanajuato and Querétaro during the weekends) Medical Traveler’s Insurance Cost: $3,200 USD

13 Campus Hidalgo has a program coordinator and a Tutor who will be with the students the entire summer. During the 4 weeks students from McGill University will participate with 3-5 students from Tec who will be sharing the program with them. In order to keep the quality standards of this program, we will only accept 5-10 foreign students. Come and have a great international experience!
