1 JUNIOR REGISTRATION ORIENTATION CLASS OF 2016 Registration Dates March 2 rd – 6th

2 IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION  REGISTRATION SHEET (must bring the day of registration)  Honors/AP require summer reading; will be listed on the Poly Website: rusdlink.org/poly  Math and Foreign Language require a grade of “C” or better to move to next level  Parent and Student Signatures and cell phone numbers ARE REQUIRED on registration form  On track seniors are required to be enrolled in at least five classes  On track seniors are required to be enrolled in at least five classes regardless of credit total.  You MUST list 2 alternative classes; if you don’t, counselor may place you in a random class

4 Why take AP classes?  21 AP courses offered at Poly  May earn college credit if score of 3, 4 or 5 on AP exam (5 is the maximum score)  Gain experience of taking college level courses  Competitive colleges recommend AP courses for admission consideration.

8 Summer School  Application Process Your counselor will meet with you to plan senior year classes and hope to notify you at that time of summer school course offerings and the course(s) you need to retake. 9 Reminders for the Class of 2016  Visit college campuses during Spring Break  Take ACT/SAT by June 2015; take SAT subject test if you are UC bound  Volunteer over the summer; keep a log w/signatures  If you plan to apply to a four year PRIVATE college or for scholarships during the 2015/16 school year, you must: *Complete Letter of Recommendation Packet and turn in by August 2015.
