27 NOAA CLASS http://www.class.noaa.gov/

28 Conclusion MAFF needs NPP/VIIRS data of Japan and SE Asian region for research continuity especially for forest fire detection and fishing boats monitoring of night time lights data. The fine VIIRS night time lights imagery is excellent! In this time, we checked the file names, imageries and HDF data structures, which are not simple for non experts. We are considering to use the CLASS system to obtain real time data.

29 Acknowledgments Thank Dr. Chris Elvidge and Ms. Sharolyn Anderson of NOAA-NGDC for providing VIIRS sample datasets, and Ms. Kimberly Baugh of CIRES, NOAA-NGDC for providing excellent ENVI plugins.

30 Thank you
