2 LISTEN Name your decision- What am I going to decide? As a group, after going through the listen process, and researching, we decided that it is not ethical to test products on animals. Why should I decide this? We discussed the topic of animal testing and found that our final decision follows the moral values of each group member. We feel that it animal testing is unfair and unjust to the animals, the benefit does not outweigh the health risks for the animal. What values am I living out in making this decision? Making this decision, we are living out values that respect animals, and treat each living creature God created equally and humanely. What is my plan for carrying out this decision? Our plan for carrying out this decision is to realize our moral stance on this issue and to educate others about animal testing.

3 Facts About Animal Testing Some of these facts about animal testing that we came across in our research helped us form our decision In labs, most smaller animals that are tested on are kept in a small box, usually no larger than a shoe box. Most of the time there are more than one animal in a box. Dogs and cats that are tested on in labs live in wire cages and most animals are kept in their cage at all times without any attention, unless they are needed for an experiment. In 2002, approx. 500,000 animals were used in experiments in which they were made to feel pain or discomfort. Out of those, approx. 100,000 animals were given nothing to help reduce their pain. Many animals are euthanized shortly after being used in an experiment.
