2. Thesis Statement Lack of funds to pay off debt left Germany vulnerable, allowing Hitler to gain power, which led to World War II.

3. The Beginning Clemenceau of France and President Woodrow Wilson met to talk about the aftermath of World War I. Wilson wanted a treaty, and Clemenceau wanted revenge.

4. Hitler’s Influence In 1939, Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany. He wanted to regain the territory that Germany had lost.

7. Conclusion This war exhausted all the nations, and left many in a state of turmoil. Power should have been balanced, but Hitler denied any attempts at peace. Hitler’s actions led directly to the second world war.
