2 Thesis Statement Lack of funds to pay off debt left Germany vulnerable, allowing Hitler to gain power, which led to World War II.

3 The Beginning Clemenceau of France and President Woodrow Wilson met to talk about the aftermath of World War I. Wilson wanted a treaty, and Clemenceau wanted revenge.

4 Hitler’s Influence In 1939, Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany. He wanted to regain the territory that Germany had lost.

5 The War Nazi Germany began it’s war with Poland on September 1 st. Poland was destroyed, which sparked conflict in nations all over.

6 Facts World War II had more casualties than any other war in history. The Nazis killed 12 million people, 6 million of those being Jews that were killed in the Holocaust. The war ended on September 2, 1945, when Japan signed a surrender agreement on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

7 Conclusion This war exhausted all the nations, and left many in a state of turmoil. Power should have been balanced, but Hitler denied any attempts at peace. Hitler’s actions led directly to the second world war.
