Grand Mosque/Cathedral of Cordoba I choose this mosque because it is the grandest Islamic architectural achievement in the western world and it was the center of the Muslim city of Cordoba, which, during the time of the mosque’s construction, was the center of knowledge and learning alongside Baghdad.

Islamic Calligraphy Calligraphy was a huge part of Islamic art and is seen on many books of literature and on old mosques. Muslim artists used calligraphy mostly to beautifully portray verses of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, on mosques and important, like this calligraphy on thee Taj Mahal.
