1 1 The ‘Majeure’ IB offers students access to 3 international master-level programs: the Double Degree the CEMS MIM (joint degree with HEC) the Master Exchange Program (MEP) Details of the teaching objectives and academic content of each of these programs are detailed in separate presentations. 2 2 The ‘Majeure’ IB: aims at preparing students for international management careers runs over a period of one full academic year includes a semester on the HEC campus and a semester abroad at one of the partner schools, or the whole year at the partner school in the case of a double degree includes the completion of a Master Thesis with an international dimension The ‘Majeure’ International Business

3 3 NEW : you will have the chance to submit 5 preferences from all the available destinations and the three programs altogether. You therefore have the opportunity to maximize your chances of being selected for a specific destination or region that you are particularly interested in OR simply focus on a single program/network. For example: - Choice 1: CEMS LSE - Choice 2: CEMS NUS, Singapore - Choice 3: MEP at Tsinghua - Choice 4: CEMS FGV, Brazil - Choice 5: Double Degree FGV, Brazil: MPGI The ‘Majeure’ International Business

4 4 Selection Process Selection for the ‘Majeure’ is based on: - your GPA of your Master 1 grades at HEC, - your foreign language skills (apart from French and English), - your internships/exchange programs abroad - the grade of your interview. English requirements for application The ‘Majeure’ International Business TOEFL (100/250/600) or IELTS (7.0) or a highschool/university degree in English.

5 5 The ‘Majeure’ International Business Selection timetable: –January 28 th, 2011: Reception of your application by the International Office either personally handed out or sent by post/DHL). –January 28 th to February 1 st, 2011: Choice of ‘Majeure’ –February 8 th – 11 th, 2011: Interviews: on campus or by telephone (online registration) –March 1 st, 2011: Publication of results

6 6 Double Degree Double Degree offer:  Brazil: Fundaçao Getulio Vargas, Sao Paolo (3 seats*)  Europe: Bocconi, Milan (8 seats) - ESADE, Barcelona (3 seats) - RSM, Rotterdam School of Management (1 seat) - University of St Gallen (4 seats*)  India: IIM Ahmedabad (3 seats*)  Russia: Graduate School of Business, St Petersburg (2 seats*)  United States: MIT - Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, Massachusetts (up to 5 seats*) * GMAT required

7 7 MIT – Sloan School of Management What is specific to this Double Degree:  It is offered to a pre-selected number of HEC students both from MBA and MSc Program (Grande Ecole degree).  Final selection is done by MIT.  You will have to pay Sloan tuition fees Online Application through the MIT website. HEC students are responsible for getting their GMAT score as well as the 3 recommendation letters as indicated by MIT ready in time for the MIT application deadline. You must submit your complete application to Iris Ritter by January 20 th for pre-selection. MIT Final Application deadline is January 31 st, 2011

8 MEP Program – ‘Majeure’ IB 40 places offered 1 academic exchange abroad at one of a partner schools (30 ECTS) 1 certificate (15 ECTS) 1 research paper (20 ECTS) OPTIONAL : Possible alternative to the certificate on campus : the student may take a 3 month-internship in the country where he was on exchange. 8

12 12 MEP Program - Gap Year 31 places offered for an exchange abroad during Gap-Year Program offered to Master 1 students - The MEP Program offers you to combine an academic experience abroad during gap-year with the possibility to apply for a ‘Majeure’ on campus for your M2 year (Specialization Year) –This opportunity is offered in addition to your studies at HEC (free course choice, no credits transfered to HEC for your Master degree) –Same selection requirements and application deadlines as for the Majeure International Business

13 13 HEC Japan experience! Spend your gap year in Tokyo! 2 different internships: –6 months at Calyon in Tokyo –6 months as a personal assistant to a Senator in the Parliament in Tokyo Internship + 1 year at Hitotsubashi University Your studies at Hitotsubashi require a full-year immersion in Japanese language and culture. Before starting the academic year in April, you will be required to do an internship in Japan.
