2 About this Session Case study for providing employees with information through dynamic reports. JDeveloper with OA Extension was used to create a report utility for displaying multiple reports to employees. We will show how we combined a Jdeveloper page and BI reports to accomplish the desired result.

Dan Roth –Applications Programmer/Developer Intermountain Healthcare Oracle EBusiness Suite – HR/Payroll –Started in Release 10 Working with Oracle Apps since 1999 –Hired first in Operations for the implementation –Transferred to IT Support for the system in 2006 Brigham Young University MS in Accounting –emphasis in Information Technology

5 Intermountain Healthcare 22 Hospitals and 185 physician clinics located in Utah and Idaho Non-profit integrated healthcare system 33,000+ employees –The largest non-government employer in Utah –Payroll processed every two weeks –Operations run 24/7 with many different employee types

6 Why did I choose to do this? Still learning Volunteer –UTOUG volunteer and board member –I felt I could provide a useful presentation Experience –I have learned some things –I’d like to learn more –Have worked on many projects – still curious

9 Previous Methods and Issues - JAVA Text Editors – Notepad, MultiEdit, etc. Internet searches to find examples or pre- written code. In-house development for features and functionality. Employee self-service triggered the need and we continued with what we started with.

10 Previous Methods and Issues – Reports Oracle Reports Hours long processing to generate 30,000+ PDF reports – each with its own concurrent process. Permanent storage of large CLOBs in a database table. Concurrent manger conflicts that left a small percentage of reports incorrect for the employee. No way to regenerate a missing report.
