Part of the IMT-2000 initiative, is a 3G standard supporting a theoretical data throughput of up to 2 Mbps. First trials started in 2001. It should be rolled out throughout most of the world by 2005. GPRS - General Packet Radio Service. A radio technology for GSM networks that adds packet-switching protocols, shorter set-up time for ISP connections, and offer the possibility to charge by amount of data sent rather than connect time. 3G - In mobile telephony, third-generation protocols support much higher data rates, measured in Mbps, intended for applications other than voice. 3G will support bandwidth-hungry applications such as full- motion video, video-conferencing and full Internet access.

They are solid green when there is an active connection. When there is network traffic on that connection, they flash green. WirelessThis light is solid green when there is a connection to the router through the 802.11g / WLAN wireless network. This indicator flashes green when there is network traffic over the wireless network DMZA zone (computer or a network) that sits between a trusted zone (network - typically LAN) and untrusted zone (network - typically Internet). DMZ is typically separated by firewalls at each border. DMZ is typically used for servers (i.e. WEB or FTP) which are accessed from untrusted networks. 3G/UMTSThis light is solid green when the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card is connected to the mobile network Power Ethernet WirelessDMZ 3G/UMTS Internet
