Welcome / About  About the Presenters  Joe Harder, Systems Engineer  Adam Devereaux, Systems Engineer

Agenda  What is VoIP?  VoIP Hype vs. Reality for the Small Business  The Worksighted Solution  Saving Money on Call Costs w/ Iserv  Example ROI Calculations  Overview of Benefits  Questions / Hands – On

What is VoIP?  VoIP stands for “Voice over IP”  In short, VoIP implies that “voice” is carried over your computer network  This does not necessarily imply that calls in/out of the organization are routed over the Internet  Calls in/out of the organization can come over the Internet OR traditional phone service  We achieve “network convergence”  Three key elements: 1Phone, 2) PBX, 3) Phone Service  Do not confuse “system features” with VoIP  Digital does not necessarily mean VoIP

VoIP Hype vs. Reality  The same benefits do not apply equally to Large and Small Business!!!  VoIP Hype  Zero call costs because we use the Internet  Wiring convergence  Return will quickly offset investment (depends on solution)  No impact on existing infrastructure Continued …

VoIP Hype vs. Reality  VoIP Realities  Increased flexibility / scalability  Unified Communications  Single vendor support  Reduced call costs (w/ Internet calling)  Reduced reception costs  No cost extension moves (just plug it in to the network)  Branch Office / Remote Worker solutions – Big benefit for small biz  Increased applications  Lower operating costs with added capability  Failover options

Worksighted Solution  3CX IP PBX on Microsoft Windows + Worksighted+ SIP Provider  3CX IP PBX (software) running on Microsoft Windows  Software makes it easy to scale and upgrade  Get new features with new version!  Software is much less costly than hardware  Standard configuration options and beyond!  Built-in conference bridge (no more paying for a service)  Get the “key” features and drop the “fluff”  Custom application development possibilities  ROI calculations that make sense!!  Unified Messaging (with Exchange 2007/2010)  Best of all …. Worksighted support!!!!

Internet Calling  Internet based calling key features:  Phone numbers no longer equal physical lines  We can centralize numbers from area codes all over the state  We take advantage of an ITSPs backend connection to the phone company and spend less on calls  Less expensive DIDs  Bundle Internet service with voice service through common provider to save money  Don’t “over buy” phone service.  One less vendor.  Key thing to consider is quality due to Internet latencies. We need to use a provider that is closely connected. Our best results have been through Iserv.  Worksighted itself has been running in this scenario for two years and has saved approximately $500/mo in overall combined Internet and Phone charges through Iserv.
