3 What is it? Posting pictures on the internet (sharing pictures via the internet) Often used by students in their personal lives Provides a great opportunity for teachers to integrate technology into the classroom Numerous free online photo sharing sites

4 Safety Guidelines Controversial issue Consult the school’s internet safety guidelines/policy Teacher must receive permission from student’s legal guardian before engaging in online photo sharing Find a site that requires a classroom or student password (not open to the general public) Do not include captions that reveal the names of students Educate students on proper/safe online photo sharing

8 What is it? Organizing websites in one place, making it easier to find them again Useful to teachers and students alike Can be used in various ways in and out of the classroom

9 Safety Guidelines Students should be instructed beforehand on safe web searching and validity of sites Teachers should educate parents on the purpose of keeping bookmarks and on safe web browsing Having bookmarks open to the public makes it easier for the whole class to see them, but students should be aware of this Personal websites should not be posted on a public bookmark site (facebook, blogger, myspace)
