2. Textbook & Companion Guides  Textbook: Grade 5 Treasures.  Companion Guides in class for Vocabulary and Grammar study.  Online textbook information. Students have this in their binders.

3. Assessment  Homework  In class work and projects  Weekly (generally) assessments based on the main selection stories.  Unit tests (generally about every 5 weeks)  Writing projects (quarterly)  Mark Twain Award nominee books (quarterly)  Book club work and assessment (once per semester)

4. Homework  Homework will be posted on my teacher webpage each day  Any announcements and news will also be posted  I will generally (unless we are working on an ongoing project) not assign homework on Fridays

5. Late and Absent Policy  Points will be taken off for each day an assignment is late. After 3 days, I will not take the assignment and the grade will be marked as a zero.  If a student is absent, one additional day for each day absent will be given to make up work.  Homework is posted on my webpage.  Per school policy, we are unable to give homework in advance for vacations.  Questions and unusual circumstances, please email me.
