D-Day was the Allied planned invasion of Nazi occupied Europe and break through Hitler’s “Atlantic Wall” General Dwight D. Eisenhower- Supreme Commander of Allied Troops Erwin Rommel(Desert Fox)- German Field Marshal in Europe June 6, Allied forces invade the beaches of Normandy, France American troops invade beaches code-named “Utah” and “Omaha”, British invade “Gold” and “Sword” beaches, and Canadian troops invaded “Juno” beach. Despite obstacles to their plan of attack, the Allied troops are able to secure all 5 beaches of Normandy.
