Facts A typical mid-sized sedan produces 9,500 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. While a current hybrid car produces less than half of that annually. Converting the average household to wind or solar power saves 22,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. And preserving an average acre of forest in the united states saves more than 200,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
