5 Almost similar to pump – Main action pump=pressurize fluid to transport – Main action compressor=pressurize fluid by reducing the volume

6 Function Provide high pressure gas to plant – low pressure steam to high pressure steam (steam reforming) Reduce volume of gas – For transport (LNG) – Processing (Compress gas, increase pressure, increase concentration) Maintain pressure of gas Pressurize water in boiler (Carnot cycle)
