5. Species: Cornus florida Facts: Some species produce poisonous fruit. Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Generally found in hardwood forests, often used in landscaping.

6. Species: Picea glauca Facts: Can reach 215 feet tall. Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Coniferous Forest.

7. Species: Acer patanoides Location: BCC Campus Habitat: Anywhere, originally native to Europe.

9. Species: Platanus occidentalis Location: BCC Campus.. Habitat: Hyrdrosere preferably, mixed throughout parks. Facts: Red flowers when in bloom.

10. Species: Tsuga canadensis Facts: Oldest recorded, 554 years. Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Preferably moist acidic soil.

11. Species: Taxus baccata Location: BCC Campus. Facts: Leaves are used to stop cancer cell growth permanently. All species are poisonous if ingested.

13. Species: Pinus resinosa Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Mixed forest, sandy mesosere. Facts: Telephone poles are Red Pine.

14. Species: Acer rubrum Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Mixed forests, Hydrosere. Facts: Native Americans used the bark to treat illness.

15. Species: Pinus strobus Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Preferably sand or sandy mesosere. Facts: Dr. Lamoureux likes to cuddle in them.

16. Species: Fraxinus americana Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Well drained mixed forests, enjoys the company of hardwoods. Facts: Primary wood for hockey sticks.

17. Species: Rhus typhina Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Sunlight, edges of forest, not deep where the light is minute. Facts: Berries used to make lemonade like substance.

18. Species: Populus tremuloides Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Slopes, moist with gravel substrate. Facts: Very disease prone.

20. Species: Gleditsia tricanthos Location: BCC Campus. Habitat: Mixed forest, preferably hydrosere. Facts: The pods it grows are fermented to make beer.
