1. “Day In Chicago” Project Instructions 1.You will be planning a “Day in Chicago” with one of your friends! You will have a lot of fun choosing whatever you like to do! But, you MUST stay within your budget!! 2.You and your partner will be provided with an attraction menu. The two of you will choose from this menu what you would like to do and see in Chicago during your special day. 3.Rules for your day: * You and your friend each have $150 to spend, or $300 total. You must purchase a Metra train ticket to and from Chicago, and cab fare in between each attraction and restaurant. * Your “Day In Chicago” itinerary MUST include the following: 1. A Metra ticket to the city 2. Cab fare from the Metra station to your first attraction. 3. At least one sporting event 4. At least one museum 5. One restaurant visit (NO MORE THAN ONE!) 6. Cab fare in between each attraction 7. The rest of your sightseeing is up to you! But, you must visit a minimum of 4 additional attractions, museums, etc. in addition to the one sporting event, one museum, and one restaurant. 8. Cab fare back to the Metra station after your last attraction 9. A Metra ticket back home

2. * Using the “Day in Chicago” planning worksheet provided by the teacher, you will list each attraction and expense, with a total amount spent at the end. * REMEMBER: You must list the total price of each attraction for you and your friend. If lunch will cost $10 per person, you need to list this on the worksheet as $20 – two of you are eating!! Be sure to compromise when choosing where to go! * Do not go over your budget!! You are being graded on your ability to spend under $300 while meeting required criteria between the two of you. * You MAY use a calculator!! 4.In addition, you and your partner will research each attraction and restaurant you plan to visit. Websites are listed on the attraction menu. You and your partner will write down two interesting facts about each attraction on a separate worksheet. (You do not need to write facts for the restaurants, only the attractions and Metra rail system). For example, for the Willis Tower, you could write what year it was constructed and how many floors it has. Use the websites to help you choose what you would like to see! Be creative with your research – tell us something you believe we would not already know. You will be sharing these facts with your classmates! 5.You only need to turn in one planning worksheet and one interesting fact worksheet between you and your partner. Make sure both of your names are on it. 6.Have fun & please ask questions if you have any!
