4 Madrid – Istambul 2013 To go to Istambul from Madrid, you have a direct flight. Departuring from the international airport of Madrid, Barajas, the flight flys over Barcelona, the island of Corsica, Rome, the north of Albania, Macedonia, south of Bulgaria, north of Greece and finally it arrives to the international airport of Istambul, Ataturk.

7 Madrid – Istambul 1960’s To go to Istambul from Madrid in the 60's, there wasn´t any direct flights. You had to fly from Madrid to Frankfurt and then from there to Istambul. From Madrid to Frankfurt, you had to fly over France, and from Frankfurt to Istambul, you had to fly over Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and finally you arrive to the airport of Istambul.

10 Route Simplon Orient Express Now a days the route by train Madrid - Istanbul is the same as in the 60´s. The only difference between them was the train that you had to take from the station of Madrid (Chamartín) to Paris, but the route still the same. In the 60´s you took the train “Expreso Puerta del Sol” and now you have to take a hotel train called “Tren Hotel Francisco de Goya”. Then in Paris you take the famous Simplon Orient Express to Istanbul, going through Lausanne, Milan, Venice, Belgrade, Sofia and finally Istanbul.

24 Madrid – Bruxelles 2013 First you have to go straight ahead to the north of Spain with the A-1 highway to Burgos and then get in the AP-1 to Vitoria and the E-80 to Donostia. Now you have to stay in the AP-8 till you get in the borderline with France, then you change to the E80 straight to Bayone. In Bayone get to the A63, to the north of France,till Villenave - d’Ornon, bordering Bordeaux and get on the A10 to Poitiers. In Poitiers continue in the A10 all the way to Paris, passing Tours and Orleans. In this last part you have to follow the E19 highway directly to bruxelles, passing the borderline between France and Belgium.

29 Bruxelles – Copenhague 2013 You had to get into the A22/E17 Belgium, then in the conexion Antwerpen-West to Brussel (E34). Later to the E313/Luik/Hasselt/Eindhoven/Turnhout, next following the indications coming into Netherlands (A67/E34). Then direction Hannover you get into Münster (A43). Finally you have to take the ferry Puttgarden to Rodby entering in Denmark. Take the road 31 direction Stockholm.

36 Copenhague – Petäjävesi 2013 From Copenhague, Denmark, we go to Langebro, and we continue in Amager Blvd.We turn right to Englandsvej street and then we turn left and get in the highway E-20. We stay in the highway to cross the bridge, Oresund, reaching Sweden. We stay in the E-20 and then we change to the highway E4 until we reach the exit to the highway E-18. We stay in the E-18 and exit in Maarianhamina, where we take a ferry to Havsgatan. There we go by car throw the road Österleden, and we turn right and join the road Lemlandsvägen, until we reach the port Långnäs. There we take another ferry. When we arrive to the port we go throw Hamngatan and the we join the highway E-18 in Finland and exit to the Road 9 and when we get in the highway E63, there we take the exit to Road 58. We stay on this road until we reach Kalettomanti, where we exit to the road 6045, we turn right to Jyväskyläntie to join the road 23 until we reach the traffic circle. There we take the third exit continuing in Asematie, road 6241, and finally we arrive Petäjävesi, Finland.
