2. لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنْفَكِّينَ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ ﴿ 98:1 ﴾  Where was this Surah revealed?  It was revealed in Makkah.  What is the meaning of Al Bayyinah?  It means clear evidence. It means the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Qur’an  What do you understand from the word “disbelievers” in this Ayah?  It means all kinds of disbelievers. The Idol-worshippers, and those who disbelieved from amongst the Jews and the Christians.  Why should we learn Qur’an?  It is a book from Allah (swt). It teaches us how to live our lives in a way that can please Allah (swt).  What happens to those who manage to please Allah (swt)?  Allah (swt) has great rewards for those who try to please Allah (swt). Allah (swt) takes care of them in this world and enters them in Jannah when they die.. Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

3. رَسُولٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو صُحُفًا مُطَهَّرَةً ﴿ 98:2 ﴾ What is the meaning of “suhufan” in this ayah? It means the Holy Scriptures. What are Holy Scriptures? These are the Books revealed to the Prophets of Allah (peace be upon them); and by the holy scriptures we mean the scriptures which are free from every mixture of falsehood. How many Books have been revealed by Allah (swt)? List them and also mention the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon them) on whom the books were revealed? Allah (swt) has revealed four books. 1. Injil – Prophet I’saa (peace be upon him) 2. Torah- - Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) 3. Zabur- Prophet Dawd (peace be upon him) 4. Qur’an – Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him ) Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

4. فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ﴿ 98:3 ﴾ What is the meaning of كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ? Scriptures that are absolutely true and have straight laws. Where do we find straight laws from Allah (swt)? In the Holy Scriptures. Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

5. وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ ﴿ 98:4 ﴾ Explain الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ ? It means groups of people who were given the Holy Scriptures. Why did people differ? The People of the Book had adopted the wrong ways even when Allah (swt) had sent them the Holy Scriptures and were divided into countless sects/groups because of different kinds of errors and deviation. 6. وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَذَلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ ﴿ 98:5 ﴾ What were the people commanded to do? To worship Allah (swt) with sincerity. To establish Salah To pay Zakah Explain ذَلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ ? “That is the right faith/religion.” Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

7. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أُولَئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِ ﴿ 98:6 ﴾ Do the People of the Book believe in one God? Yes. Why are they called “kafirs” (disbelievers) here? Because they refused to accept Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last messenger of Allah (swt) What is the meaning of فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ ? “In the fire of Jahannum” What is the meaning of هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِ ? “They are the worst of creatures” Who are the worst of creatures according to this Ayah/verse? Why? The People of the Book and the Mushriks are the worst of creatures. They are worst of all creatures as they reject the truth even when they have reason and authority. 8. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ ﴿ 98:7 ﴾ What is Iman? To believe in Allah (swt) as one God and that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the messenger of Allah (swt). What are righteous deeds? Righteous deeds are deeds that are done according to Sunnah to make Allah (swt) happy. What is the meaning of هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ ? They are the best of creatures. Who are the best of creatures? 9. جَزَاؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ ﴿ 98:8 ﴾ What is the meaning of “jaza”? Recompense/reward. What is the reward for خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ ? Their reward with their Lord is 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity), underneath which rivers flow, They will abide therein forever, Allâh will be pleased with them, and they with Him.
