1 Monica Wang & Jennesa Heiting Wisconsin-Upper Michigan Circle K Spring Fling 2013 Launch your Fundraising Events!

2 Why Fundraise? Fundraising can provide a great sense of achievement amongst your club members while raising money for those that need it. In addition, successful fundraisers will get your name out in your community which may help in future endeavors. Your sponsoring Kiwanis clubs may also be impressed by your efforts and may provide you and your clubs more funding in the future.

3 Setting a Budget Budgeting for an event can be very hard, especially if this is your first time doing so. Work with your board/members to try to determine how much the event will cost and ways to save money. Here are some things to consider when budgeting for an event: Do you have to pay for the venue? How much will it cost for publicizing/advertising? Will your school charge anything? (i.e. if you are selling food, do you have to buy a license?)

4 Saving money If you don't have enough money in your club budget to host the event, try to brainstorm some ways to save money within your club! Here are a few ways to save money while planning your event: Ask local businesses for donations! See if you can get discounts if you mass order something. Ask members if their parents/family would be willing to donate. Ask members for materials before buying anything (i.e. markers, paper, pencils, etc.) Ask your sponsoring Kiwanis club to help fund your event. Apply for the Tomorrow Fund!
