4 Questions that are asked
Where did everything come from? Is there a God? When did time begin? Why are we here?

5 Where do we get answers? Do we believe man’s theories or do we believe the recorded Word of God? Can evolution fit into the biblical account of creation?

6 In the beginning Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” From the very first verse of the Bible answers all of these questions. It says “” That’s really all we need to know about the origins of the earth and life. God created it all. The entire rest of the Bible hangs on this verse. We must accept this verse to be true or the rest of the Bible is meaningless. We must accept that God is eternal and that he created all things. If we accept that, then all the rest of the bible and the history of the universe is easily understood.

7 Compromise the Word of God?
The day age view The gap theory The framework hypothesis Theistic evolution Progressive creation Over the past couple of hundred years some scientists came up with unbiblical ideas that the earth is around 4.5 billion years old, but that number often changes over the years. But unfortunately due to societal pressure many Christians have attempted to merge these teachings into the Bible’s account of creation. A few of the those views are as follows: The day age view: a compromise belief that the days of Genesis 1 are actually vast ages of different lengths; based on secular dating methods The gap theory: a compromise belief that a vast period of time exists between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 into which the geologic areas can be fit The framework hypothesis: a compromise belief that Genesis 1 is written in a non-literal, non chronological way Theistic evolution: a compromise belief that suggests God used evolutionary processes to create the universe and life on earth over billions of years. Progressive creation: a compromise belief accepting that God has created organisms in a progressive manner over billions of years to accommodate secular dating methods What do all of these theory’s have in common? They all compromise the Word of God and put a greater priority on man’s theories over God’s Word.

8 We ask why are our children leaving the church in droves
We ask why are our children leaving the church in droves? This is the number one reason why. If we tell them Genesis chapter 1 is not accurate but just a story, then why should they believe anything else in the bible? This has become Satan’s #1 way of pulling people away from God. There’s not one word in the bible that needs to be compromised. When we do so, we only enable our enemy to win, and we then become an enemy of God when we change his Word.

9 So are we going to trust God’s Word where Christ says in Matthew 4:4 “It is Written” or are we going to trust man’s word which is written and then rewritten and rewritten every few years. It’s constantly changing. God’s Word has never changed.

10 Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

11 You may ask why is it such a problem to make this compromise
You may ask why is it such a problem to make this compromise. Well we have the story of Adam and Eve and God calling it Very Good, but if we believe evolution occurred prior to the story of Adam and Eve we have a big problem. Now we have sin, death, pain, suffering, etc.. appearing and happening before God said that it did.

12 Would God have called his creation very good if there had already been billions of years of death and killing before he completed it? That doesn’t make any sense.

13 One man sinned, One man saved
Romans Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13. (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. So this passage says that sin entered into the world by one man (Adam). And the gift of grace came by one man Jesus Christ. So if there was already death and sin millions of years prior to Adam then this passage is meaningless. And if Adam was not responsible for our sin, then there would be no need for the offering of Christ to pay our sin debt, since apparently God created sin millions of years before Adam and there was already death before that. So not only are you cutting out the first few chapters of Genesis with evolutionary theories now you are making the sacrifice of Christ meaningless. He died for nothing if Adam wasn’t the original sinner and brought death into this world. There would be nothing for Christ to save us from. So you see how dangerous it is to compromise any part of the bible.

14 Non biblical - doesn’t make sense
Biblical - fits perfectly So according the evolution compromisers you have millions of years of death, God finally finishing his creation and saying that it was very good (doesn’t sound very good to me) then you have Adam and Eve and more death? Death now, and then more death in future because you have taken away the cause of why Christ died for us. Or we can just believe Word for Word what the Bible says and everything makes perfect sense, We have God creating everything in 6 literal days, Adam sins, death enters into the world and we need a Savior to pay our sin debt. So we now forsee a future where there is no death, just as God intended with his perfect creation before man sinned. Everything works in perfect harmony when we interpret the bible word for word as it is written. When we compromise one part of it everything else falls apart. God’s Word holds true on it’s own. We do not have to change one word.

15 Evolution Sun before Earth Earth same time as other planets Sea Creatures before plants Reptiles before birds Bible Earth (Day 1) Sun (Day4) Other Planets (Day 4) Plants (Day 3) Sea Creatures (Day 5) Birds (Day 5) Reptiles (Day 6)

16 ALL Scripture is foundational
Unfortunately we find that many Christians feel that the age of the earth is an unimportant side issue and discussing it detracts from the gospel message. But we must understand that ALL scripture is foundational to our faith. Not just parts of it, ALL of it! If we can set aside a literal six day creation because it is unpopular, then at what point to we stop teaching a virgin birth or a literal Resurrection? Believing the historical account of Genesis chapters 1-11 is foundational to believing the rest of the Bible and essential for being able to understand the gospel message. Without Adam’s sin and the death punishment that comes with that, the gospel message has no meaning.
