3. The US Capital Building was built for the Senate and the House of Representatives to work in.

4. It has been home of the House of Representatives and the Senate since the 1800’s.

5. There they have meetings to pass laws and make decisions for our country.

6. The Building has 540 rooms separated into 5 floors.

7. It has a white iron dome 287.5 feet high. It is on top of what is now called Capital Hill.

18. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a long granite wall with the names of over 58,000 men and women who died or went missing during the Vietnam War. About 1000 names on the wall are missing people.

19. Next to the wall there are 2 statues. One of 3 nurses and a wounded soldier and one of 3 soldiers.

20. People leave gifts and flowers at the wall to honor the people who gave their lives in the war. If there is a diamond next to the name the person is dead and if there is a plus next to the name the person is missing.
