3 ELT websites or authentic websites? (pp. 28-29) ( authentic materials=“materials that were not originally made for pedagogical purposes”) Both can be used. ELT websites…language practice activities, should be chosen based on the levels of students *one example Randolls’ ESL Cyber Listening Lab Authentic websites…should be chosen to fit students’ levels and interests ….an ideal opportunity to work on “total comprehension”

4 How to find useful websites The ability to search through Internet content, and quickly and efficiently find suitable resourses=the most underrated but most useful skill for teachers and students. *For teachers: -speed up lesson planning facilitate web use in class For students: -accomplish web-based tasks quickly -the technology enhances learning
