Provides funding to projects designed to: – Encourage – Encourage Sustainability at SUNY Orange. – Advance – Advance Sustainability at SUNY Orange. – Improve – Improve Sustainability at SUNY Orange. and are -Innovative -Learning Centered -Collaborative or Interdisciplinary

3. What kind of Projects will be Funded? RUBRIC FOR COMPARING AND EVALUATING PROPOSALS includes four main categories: 1) General Requirements: Project Impact Tracking/Reporting Timeline Budget Savings to the college 2) Education and Curriculum: Awareness/Responsibility 3) Potential to Reduce GHG Emissions: GHG Reductions Quantifications 4) Feasibility and Collaboration

4. Who is eligible to request funds? Faculty all full-time and part-time Staff Students projects must be supervised and sponsored by faculty

5. Application Process and Timeline Step 1: Download ApplicationApplication Provide required supporting documentation. Discuss the project with division or departmental personnel who will be involved with planning or implementation. Step 2: Submit one signed application to Sustainability Coordinator by December 1, 2011 Funded proposals announced by February 1, 2012 Budgeting/Purchasing Phase: Feb. 1 – Aug. 31, 2012 Implementation Phase: Feb. 1, 2012 – Feb. 1 2013 (one year) Step 3: Provide results to Sustainability Coordinator within six months of project completion.

Ideas for Fundable Projects……… ¤ Curriculum/Professional development- Sustainability-related learning ¤ Special Events – speakers, trips, contests, campaigns ¤ Equipment upgrade/energy efficiency/retrofitting ¤ Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Composting projects ¤ Software – I.e. paper use reduction, energy saving, etc. ¤ Purchase and Installation of biodiesel processor, native plants, rain barrels, etc.
