2 Enhancements to the School Report Update to the way KS2 Prior Attainment is referenced Key to Success allows schools to download KS2 Results as a Decimal Level and Fine grade. Two new aspects enable the entering of this information into SIMS and drive the Progress 8/Attainment 8 calculations in the School Report. A Template - in Assessment enables school to enter the data into the new aspects which drive the calculations. The Template is available from the AMPA folder and is named: Progress 8 – KS2 Fine Level Template 2

3 Admissions Enhancements to the Export of Admissions School Lists (ASL) Routines | Admission | Finalise Offers Routines | Admission | Export ASL Admissions School Lists (ASL) are now exported using version 12.0. Enhancements to the Import of Admissions Data (ADT) files Routines | Admission | Import ADT File It is now possible to import version 12.0 Admissions Data Transfer (ADT) files. It is also possible to import version 11.0. Applicable to Own Admissions Authority schools in England only 3

4 Assessment Without Levels Programme of Study Formative Reports (England) Applicable to Primary schools in England only Focus | Assessment | Programme of Study Analysis | Formative Attainment and Formative Progress Two new formative reports have been provided, which enable the analysis of attainment, the monitoring of progress and a snapshot view of achievements to indicate the child's current position in regard to the school-specific and Programme of Study expectations. These reports are also accessible via the Reports button on the Programme of Study Tracking page. 4

5 Assessment Without Levels Programme of Study Summative Reports (England) Applicable to Primary schools in England only Focus | Assessment | Programme of Study Analysis | Summative Attainment and Summative Progress Two new summative reports have been provided, which enable the evaluation of the pupil's learning at the end of an instructional unit and a comparison against a national benchmark. These reports are also accessible via the Reports button on the Programme of Study Tracking page. 5

11 Course Manager Tools | Academic Management | Course Manager | Maintain Course Update Course Membership routine has been modified so planned end dates for student memberships in Years 10/11 and 12/13 are kept in line with a 2 Year duration setting for a course. Student Memberships no longer need to be protected. The Protect column in the Memberships and Results panel does not need to be ticked to prevent reversing any manual changes to the planned end date. Tools | Academic Management | Course Manager | Maintain Course The options available from the Level(s) drop-down list in the Find Courses browser are now filtered to display only the levels in use at your school. 11

12 Course Manager Improvements to the Recording of Post-16 Programmes of Study Tools | Academic Management | Course Manager | Maintain Programmes of Study It is now possible to record the Retake status of a course and to provide a calculation of the Planned Funded Hours derived from the course memberships via additional columns on the Maintain Post-16 Programmes of Study page. Additional Columns in the Memberships and Results Panel Tools | Academic Management | Course Manager | Maintain Course It is now possible to record a Withdrawal Reason, a Retake status and the Provider UKPRN for individual memberships via additional columns in the Memberships and Results panel. 12

13 CTF Version Numbers for CTF Import and Export Routines | Data In | Import CTF Before 1 August 2015, CTF version 13.0 or 14.0 can be used for the import of CTF. From 1 August 2015 onwards, CTF version 14.0 or 15.0 can be used for the import of CTF. Routines | Data Out | Export CTF Before 1 August 2015, CTF version 14.0 is used for the export of CTF. From 1 August 2015 onwards, CTF version 15.0 will be used for the export of CTF. 13

14 Examinations Organiser Discounting of Non-EDI Results in the Current Season Tools | Examinations | Edit PI Data When non-EDI results are recorded in the current season, they are now discounted automatically when you click the CKD or CRD buttons. Display of Non-EDI Results on the Student Record Focus | Pupil (or Student) | Pupil (or Student) Details (Examinations link in the Links panel) Non-EDI results are now displayed on the Student Examination Result Details page, via the student record. 14

15 Examinations Organiser Forced Saving of the Grade Integrity Check Report Tools | Examinations | PI Setup When the Grade Integrity Check is triggered by the changing of a grade, its output is now saved automatically to the location specified in the Location for Performance Reports field on the PI Setup page (via Tools | Examinations | PI Setup), preventing the information contained therein from being lost. The saved file is appended with the date and time on which the report was triggered. 15

16 Examinations Organiser Enhancement to the Embargo Rules Tools | Performance | Analysis | Exam Analysis - Build Analyses based on Seasons When an embargo is in place for exams results, and you have been exempted from the embargo, providing you have sufficient permissions, it is now possible to view the information in the following Assessment Analysis tools: Aspect Analysis Group Analysis, Chance analysis Result Set Analysis 16

17 Examinations Organiser Changes to the Export of Performance Indicator Reports to Excel Tools | Examinations | PI Reports Previously, when exporting exam report data to Excel, numbers were being stored as non-numerics, which caused errors when applying formulas. To prevent this issue from occurring, data fields containing numbers are now stored as numerics for a number of selected outputs. Exam Entry Report Available in SIMS Tools | Examinations | Entry Report A new report that produces a list of exam entries, together with the associated data (including QANs and Discount Codes) is now available in SIMS. 17

18 Examinations Organiser Updates to Progress 8 The Estimated Attainment 8 table has been updated to reflect the 2014 cohort averages, which also gives the Attainment 8 estimate to two decimal places. To support the Estimated Attainment 8 and Progress 8 calculations, a new KS2 Average Fine Level aspect has been provided. This aspect, together with an aspect for Average Fine Points Score, have been provided and these are delivered with the Summer 2015 version of AMPARK as mentioned earlier. Template - KS2 Average Points Score and Level Aspect - KS2: Average Fine Points Score (storage only) Aspect - KS2: Average Fine Level (this aspect must be populated to enable School Report and Exams Progress 8 calculations). 18

19 FMS Ability to Add Supplier, Invoice and Purchase Order Details to Manually Added Equipment Focus | Equipment To enhance the completeness of reports on equipment, it is now possible to record the Supplier, Unit Cost, Purchase Order, Invoice Number and Invoice Date on items that have been entered manually. These fields remain read-only for items imported from FMS. Updates to Equipment Register Reports Reports | Equipment The Complete Details report, the Summary List report and the Detailed List report have been updated to include a flag that identifies items that have been imported from FMS or have been entered manually. Information relating to stock take and inspection has also been added to the Complete Details report. 19

20 FMS Enhanced Password Options Tools | Manage Users (or via the Login dialog) The options to force users to change their passwords on the next login and to allow only passwords that satisfy the strong password criteria have been added. This can be accessed either by the user via the login screen, or by the user or supervisor via Tools | Manage Users. Detailed Supplier Account Status Report Produced in New Reporting Engine Reports | New Reports | Accounts Payable | Supplier Analysis | Detailed Supplier Account Status The Detailed Supplier Account Report has been produced using the new reporting engine and will replace the existing report in the FMS 2016 Spring Release. 20

21 FMS Enhancements to Financial Reporting Suite (FRS) Using the Forecast Entry page, it is now possible to save the layout, add notes to amendments, include centrally invoiced transactions and zero all amendments. On the Summary and Detailed Budget Monitoring reports, it is now possible to select cost centres by group structure, so that that financial data can be viewed by cost centre structure elements. Change of Retirement Date for the Cumulative Expense Analysis Report Reports | General Ledger | Analysis | Cumulative Expense Analysis The Cumulative Expense Analysis report was provided in the new format as part of the FMS 2014 Autumn Release. The retirement date of the Cumulative Expense Analysis report produced using the old format has been extended to the FMS 2016 Summer Release. 21

22 InTouch Single Mailbox Displays both School Messages and User Messages Focus | InTouch | Show Messages Focus | Home Page School messages and User messages (formerly My Messages) are now grouped together on the Messages page and in the Messages widget on the SIMS Home Page. The house or user icons next to messages indicate School or User messages respectively. Additionally, on the top right-hand side of the Review a Message and Review a Queued Message pages, it is now possible to determine if the Owner of the message is the School or the User. 22

23 InTouch Enhanced Warning Message when Deleting School Messages Focus | InTouch | Show Messages Focus | Home Page For clarity, when deleting school messages, the warning message has been changed from “Are you sure you want to delete the selected message”? to “Are you sure you want to delete this school message”? This will delete the message for all users. Enhancements to the Customisation of Message Types Tools | InTouch | Message Type Defaults Setup For each message type, it is now possible to define the sender and recipient (via the Message Boxes panel), the default InTouch recipient type (via the Default InTouch Contacts panel) and the external account to which messages of this type can be forwarded (via the Auto Forward panel). 23

24 InTouch Improvements to the Message Read Indication Focus | InTouch | Show Messages Focus | Home Page Unread messages are now displayed in bold text on the Messages page and in the expanded Messages widget. Improvements to the Messages Widget Focus | Home Page A number of enhancements have been made to the Messages widget: It is now possible to refresh the received messages by clicking the Refresh button on the top right-hand side of the widget. The Unread count on the top left-hand side of the widget now applies to the whole mailbox. 24

25 InTouch Next to the messages, the associated importance indicator can be viewed. The associated message status flag can be viewed and edited. When a message is received on the same day, the time of the received message is displayed under the Received title. When a message is received one or more days ago, the day and month of the received message is displayed. The year in which the message was received message is no longer displayed. The Read column has now been removed from the right-hand side of the widget. Instead, you can now view the house or user icons that indicate School or User messages respectively. Selection of Previous Exam Seasons when Sending Exam Results Tools | InTouch | Exam Results Setup Reports | Exams | Send Exam Results When defining the recipients of exam result messages and when sending exam result messages, it is now possible to select previous exam seasons. 25

26 School Census Autumn 2015 Return Key Dates for the School Census Autumn 2015 Return Routines | Statutory Return | School Census Census Date: 01/10/2015 Attendance collected from 06/04/2015 to 31/07/2015 Exclusions collected from 01/01/2015 to 05/04/2015 FSM collected from 21/05/2015 to 01/10/2015 26

27 School Census Autumn 2015 Return Changes to the Learning Aims Panel Applicable to Secondary schools, All-Through schools and Pupil Referral Units only Two new columns have been added to the Learning Aims panel: Withdrawal Reason - the withdrawal reason is now collected for 2015/2016 if a Learning Aim completion status of withdrawn has been recorded. Provider UKPRN - The UK Provider Reference Number is now collected for any partner organisation that provides training for post 16 pupil/student. 27

28 School Census Autumn 2015 Return Adopted from Care Focus | Tools | Statutory Return Tools | Update Adopted from Care For clarity, the field that was previously labelled Ever in Care (in the Update Students Adopted from Care panel) has been renamed to Ever in Care at this school. Routines | Statutory Return | School Census Adopted from care pupil/student are now carried forward automatically every term, eg from Summer to Autumn. If there are no pupil/students recorded as being adopted from care, a warning message is displayed when the Create & Validate button is clicked. 28

29 School Census Autumn 2015 Return Changes to Detail Reports Changes to detail reports include the following: Prior Attainment report - a new report introduced for the School Census Autumn 2015 Return. Learning Aims On-Roll report - addition of two new columns (Withdrawal Reason and Provider UKPRN). Leavers Learning Aims report - addition of two new columns (Withdrawal Reason and Provider UKPRN). Programmes of Study report - the Planned Qualification Hours and Planned Non Qualification Hours columns for the previous academic year have been removed. 29

30 School Census Autumn 2015 Return Updating Prior Attainment Applicable to Secondary schools, All-Through schools and Pupil Referral Units only Focus | Tools | Statutory Return Tools | Update Prior Attainment Prior attainment in GCSE Maths and English are now collected in the School Census. This data can be viewed, edited and saved via a new option available under the Tools menu. 30

31 School Workforce Census Key Dates for the School Workforce Census 2015 Routines | Statutory Returns | School Workforce Census Census Date is 05/11/2015 Absence 01/09/2014 to 31/08/2015 Continuous Contracts 01/09/2014 to 05/11/2015. 31

32 School Workforce Census Changes to the Pay Details Panel The Pay Details panel has been split into two grids: Non-Leadership grid displays staff with Non-Leadership posts and includes the following changes: –Non-Leadership Pay Scale/Range (e.g. TE, NJ, etc.) –The Scale column has been renamed to Scale/Range –The Regional Spine column has been renamed to Region –The Spine Point column has been removed. The new Leadership grid displays staff with Leadership posts and includes the following information: –Leadership Pay Scale/Range (e.g. LD) –Leadership Minimum and Maximum pay (calculated from SIMS Personnel) –Leadership Pay Framework (Pre 2014 or 2014). 32

33 School Workforce Return Post for Classroom Teacher The TCH (SWR Post for Classroom Teacher) has been re-introduced. Changes to Reports Changes to detail reports include the following: Pay Details Comparison report –Non-Leadership information is now included. –The Scale column has been renamed to Scale/Range. –The Region Spine column has been renamed to Region. –The Spine Point column has been removed. 35 Latest Pay Review Date Focus | Person | Staff - Employment Details page The Latest Pay Review Date field has been added to the Service Agreement Details panel of the Add New Service Agreement dialog. This enables the date, which is required for the School Workforce Census, to be recorded for all teachers with contract or service agreements. 35

36 Changes to Service Terms Tools | Lookups In the Service Term-Allowance Categories lookup: Category PPS has been added. Categories GTC and TLR are now inactive. TLE and TL3 replace TLR. 36
