13 Single Central Record – OfSTED Autumn 2009

14 Single Central Record  OfSTED expects schools to follow 2007 Guidance.  DCSF are working to reconcile guidance notes in Safeguarding Children and in School Workforce Census.  DCSF will update LAs in the next ICES bulletin.  Capita – Check Pack containing new lookups and a new OfSTED Single Central Record report.  Lookups include: CRB, List 99, Right to Work in UK, Identity Check, Qualifications Required, Academic Qualifications, Overseas Check Required, Overseas Check Made.  Independent Safeguarding check – awaiting guidance from DCSF and will provide in 2010.

15 New Report & Lookups ‘Qualification’ and ‘Verified by’ added.

17 Changes to Documentation Deliverables  New single-sourcing software launching end of 09.  QRS to no longer be produced as laminates.  Improvements to our help system, What’s New page and Documentation Centre.  Launch of tutorials in 09.  New design for documentation area on SupportNet.

20 Tutorials  Tutorials were launched with the June 2009 Main Release.  Useful for new users and tasks not carried out very often.  Can be linked to specific areas of our new help system which will be launched in 2010.  We will add to the tutorial library in forthcoming releases.

21 What’s New Page  New design which links the new features available with the release, to the relevant section in the applicable handbook.

22 Searching on the Doc Centre  New search facility enabling users to enter key words to search on a specific area within a document. (Summer 2010)

23 Integrated Online and Offline Help System  The new help system will make full use of online capabilities.  Ability to incorporate tutorials in specific areas of the help.  Ability to view help offline.

24 Benefits of these Changes  Producing online documentation means we can update our documentation on a regular basis.  As new tools become available our documentation is evolving, providing you with direct links to the information you need at the click of a button.  Less printing reduces our carbon footprint.
