5 5 My expectation in this course ystudents who come to class, listen, review the problems, and think a lot, typically do well. ystudents who seldom show up in class usually perform poorly.

6 6 Textbook zFundamentals of Financial Management, concise 5 th Edition, by Thomson and Southwestern. zThis is a very popular textbook, which has been used in many programs for the intro course in finance. zMaybe tougher than other textbooks. zYou will like it.

7 7 Prerequisites zYou are required to take (ACCT 101, ECON 101, DS 110, 212; ISYS 263 or pass computer information systems proficiency test. )ACCT 101 ECON 101DS 110212ISYS 263

8 8 Homework zHomework will not be graded. The solution will be posted on my web. zTry to do the Self-test problems at the end of each chapter in the textbook. zThe best way to learn new concepts is to do a lot of problems. z I will also put lecture slides, HW solution and some multiple choice exercises on my web.

9 9 In-Class-Work zThere will be 4 in-class projects.

10 10 4 quizzes and final exam zThe exams are closed-book. zThere are no makeup or in-advance exams. zThe exams are based on material covered in lectures, homework, and textbook. zMostly multiple choice questions.

11 11 Quizzes and Final z Please bring your SFSU ID or a driver license to class, as well as scantrons.

12 12 Grading zYour total points will be based on the following: zClass performance 10 zQuizzes (drop 1 lowest) 51 zFinal 39

13 13 The curve grade zThe grade that will appear on your transcript is based on the ranking of your total scores in class: zTop 10% of class A to A- zAbove 65% of class B+ to B- zAbove 30% of class C+ to C- zBottom 30% of class D+ to F

14 14 Academic integrity zThe instructor has zero tolerance for cheating or looking at each other during the exams zIn the exams, please sit as far as possible between each other.
