18  Pursuant to Federal Reporting requirements of No Child Left Behind and newly updated Georgia Department of Education Student Enrollment and Withdrawal Rule 160-5-1-.28 (revised 08/09/10), in order to report your student with a withdrawal status of transferred to another Georgia school (T) or transferred to a private school or out of state (X), an official request for records must be received in writing from your student’s new school or record of intent to re-enroll the student is required.  In order to report your student with a withdrawal status of transferred to home school (H), the parent/guardian must complete a letter of intent to home school with the Forsyth County Student Support Services department or the home school agency in the state in which you reside. If a written request for records is not received from your student’s new school/or a letter of intent to home school is not filed, your student will be reported to the Georgia Department of Education as a drop-out. Please have your student’s new school mail/fax requests for records.  Parent: If an official request for records is not received within 10 days or you do not officially register with Forsyth County Schools to home school your student within 30 days, your student will be in violation of the Teenage Adult Driver & Responsibility Act (TAADRA). This law applies to students from age 14 and not yet 18. This violation will result in the suspension of the student’s drivers’ license or the opportunity to acquire a license for a period of one year (O.C.G.A. 40-5-22).
