8 Storage Devices One of the major advances in laptop and desktop computers is the variety and the availability of cheap, large, and fast storage devices. It is not usual today to see 40-200 GB storage drives. This in turn allows the generation of large digital images, flash animation, mp3 and mp4 music and videos. It has created much more interesting web sites, created new markets e.g. iPODs, and imaging and video editing software.
