Art Studio ZENTANGLE

Zentangle is an abstract art form consisting of one or more repeated patterns. The method was created in 2003 by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas as a meditational art form taught as a means of focus, relaxation, and creativity enhancement. http://www.inward-bound.us/zentangle.html

3 PARTS OF A ZENTANGLE: Frame: Strings: Tangles: The outter most boundary line of the entire piece. The lines inside the frame that create different sections of the piece. The lines and patters that fill in those different sections.

2 TYPES OF ZENTANGLES: Contained Zentangle: A zentangle that is contained in a specific, identifiable shape.

FOR A SUCCESSFUL ZENTANGLE YOU NEED: 1. A clear concept. 2. A frame and strings to map out your piece. 3. Neatly executed and well placed tangles. 4. An even distribution of “black” and “white” sections.
