“New” rolls and responsibilities of DHS OIC, current status and transition into new oversight of P25 Process DHS OIC/OEC Partnership with APCO Suppliers Declaration of Compliance and Summary Test Reports, process flow, areas for improvement P25 CAP Governance Board and P25 SC process Performance, Conformance, and Interoperability Overview of accreditation body and labs P25 CAP Website status How would you define success of the P25 CAP? Description A formal, independent process for ensuring that communications equipment that is declared by the manufacturer to be P25 compliant in fact meets P25 standards. Value Helps first responders make purchasing decisions by providing a verifiable way to know that the equipment they purchase is indeed P25 compliant and therefore provides enhanced interoperability. Provides vendors with a method for testing their equipment for P25 compliance. Promotes effective use of federal grant funding. Summary Test Reports and Suppliers’ Declaration of Compliance documentation is made publically available via the FirstResponder.gov web site. DHS OIC and DHS OEC recently awarded a grant to APCO to provide support to DHS OIC for the execution of P25 CAP activities as well as the Computer Assisted Pre-Coordination Resource & Database System (CAPRAD) DHS OIC & APCO will consider candidates for the re-launch of the P25 CAP Governing Board (GB) Development of new and revised test procedures will follow the establishment of the P25 CAP GB In the near future, DHS OIC will release a series of Compliance Assessment Bulletins to establish the policies of the transition of accreditation services: American Association for Laboratory Accreditation ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board International Accreditation New Zealand

P25 CAP logos A program mark signifying the accreditation bodies participation in the P25 CAP and for use by the accreditation body A laboratory certification mark that would be licensed to the accreditation body for use when a laboratory is accredited to be a part of the P25 CAP Future P25 CAP testing OIC, with assistance from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, will coordinate with the P25 CAP Governing Board to establish testing priorities for both new and revised test procedures OIC will work with the Public Safety Communications Research Program and public safety to develop conformance testing procedures
