Changes to the Female Body Ovaries begin to release estrogens, which in turn leads to the release of eggs: ovulation Egg is caught by the Fallopian tube, travels down to uterus Endometrium (lining inside uterus) thickens If fertilization does not occur, the thick lining is shed off the sides of the uterus and out of the body through the cervix and vagina: menstruation

Changes to the Male Body Testicles produce sperm during puberty in a process called spermatogenesis Sperm move from testicles to the epididymis During ejaculation, sperm from the epididymis move through the vas deferens to collect semen, which nourishes the sperm Penis must be erect for ejaculation to occur Semen is ejaculated through the urethra
