6 Algebra I Prerequisites
It is of great importance that the student performs a serious introspective analysis concerning the weaknesses one may have in Algebra I and make amends as soon as possible! Algebra I & II will be your foundation for the rest of your High School and College Math, and it is not enough to “know”, you must be proficient in all of the main points mentioned in next table.

7 Things We Always Do In Math – So We Need to Master Them
1) Distribute 8) Combine Like Terms 2) Foil 9) Swap & Solve [Inverse Functions] 3) Solve 10) Apply Rules [Exponents – Radicals – Logs] 4) Factor 11) Graph [Linear, Non Linear Eq & Inequalities] 5) Simplify 12) Apply Formulas a) (x ± y)2 = x2 ± 2xy + y2 b) (x2 - y2) = (x + y) (x – y) c) (a3 ± b3) = (a ± b) (a2+ab+b2) d) (x2 + y2) = (x + yi ) (x – yi ) e) Quadratic Formula 6) Grouping & Factoring Polynomials 7) Domain & Range [Linear, Quadratic & Rational Equations] 13) Dividing Polynomials (Long Division & Synthetic Division) Make sure

8 Cell Phones need to be turned off and placed inside the backpacks
Failure to do this will result in cell phone to be taken away and returned at the end of classes upon receipt of students paper with 25 lines saying “Cell phones are not permitted in classroom”

9 School Supplies Needed in Class
Graphing Calculator [Recommended but not required] Scientific Calculator like the TI-30XS [$ ] Composition Book & Stick Glue Binder with College Ruled Paper & Graph Paper 6 Clear Plastic Sheet Protectors 6” Ruler + Circle Templates Mechanical Pencil & Eraser [Never use pen in class]

10 Grading Scale Tests 40% Regular Quizzes 15% Pop Quizzes 15% Homework Assignments 10% Special Homework Assignments 10% Class Participation 5% School Supplies 5%
