1 NetJets: Unique Aviation Weather

2 NETJETS “Executive Jet” began as a charter company in 1964 The Fractional Ownership concept known as NetJets began in 1986 Quickly became the primary part of the business Purchased by Berkshire Hathaway in 1998 Rebranded in 2001 to become NetJets Aviation Appx 700 aircraft worldwide / 15 types / 6-18 passengers 300,000 flights annuallly to 170+ countries

3 FRACTIONAL OWNERSHIP Basically “time-sharing” a private jet Benefits of aircraft ownership at a fraction of the cost/logistics Luxury travel at your convenience – time savings Travel on your schedule Your location Flight Crews Maintenance Storage

4 FRACTIONAL OWNERSHIP Interests begin with as little as 1/32 share Hours of flight time are based on your shares Access to the entire fleet through aircraft sharing agreement Marquis Jet Card and NetJets Lease allows access to NetJets fleet without share ownership Tax incentives Maintenance beyond FAA requirements Costs- Acquisition Cost Monthly Management Fee Occupied Hourly Fee Miscellaneous

OUR OWNERS 5 Appx 3700 “Share Owners” and 3900 “Card Owners” Businesses – approximately 75% Private/Public Supplemental travel High Net Worth Individuals – approximately 25% Actors/Actresses Athletes Doctors/lawyers, entrepreneurs, etc.

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 6 Staff of Four Meteorologists Two BS/Two Air Force One Manager, also Air Force trained FAA approved source of weather briefings Primarily focused on US Operations and surrounding regions International forecast requirements are increasing NetJets Europe/China Forecast time range primarily current day through two days Extended forecasts as required Considered an “advisory source” of weather information Tow main types of forecasts Operational Owner/Passenger

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 11 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS NetJets Dispatch Department is responsible for creating flight plans and flight releases for every flight segment Flights released 2-4 hours prior to ETA All flights are flown under FAR 91, 91K, or 135 Official text weather brief comes automated on the release - METAR and TAF Meteorology Department is responsible for any additional support as needed Dispatchers Pilots Operational Management

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 12 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS Dispatcher Forecasts Wet/Dry Runways Ceilings/Visibility Departure Temps Winds – Cross/Tail Flight Hazards Awareness/Avoidance Alternates TAF Analysis

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 16 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS Pilot Forecasts Official flight weather briefings on request Flight hazard analysis Radar overview Information for Owners

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 17 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS A Common Pilot question is about ECHO Tops

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 18 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS Operations Management Forecasts Safety of flight decisions Individual flights Large scale significant weather NetJets Significant Weather Operations - SIGOPS

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 19 PASSENGER WEATHER FORECASTS The biggest benefit of flying privately is time savings “Value” Weather delays can eliminate those time savings Owners fly where they want and when they want NetJets utilizes more than 1,600 airport locations across the US Smaller airports = more weather restrictions We are responsible for reviewing weather for each passenger flight Potential weather impacts are communicated to the Owner Services team responsible for the Owner Alternate plans can be discussed to avoid or lessen the impact

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 20 OPERATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTS NetJets promotes the Meteorolgoy Department as a safety and convenience enhancement for our Owners Our forecasts lessen the impact weather has on our Owners Safety – Never compromised despite our Owners wishes Convenience – Anticipate and avoid weather delays Comfort – Anticipate and avoid flight hazards “white knucklers” Forecast lead-time is important Schedule adjustments Weather forecasts outside of flying A perk of being a NetJets Owner

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 21 OTHER ROLES Flight schedule efficiency Aircraft overnight positioning/hangaring Large scale/high impact weather events Aircraft protection Severe weather Maintenance Operational check flights Ramp personnel safety Training New hire and recurrent training programs Career advancement program Sales Popular facility tour stop

NETJETS METEOROLOGY 28 FORECAST CHALLENGES Dual-role Forecasting Operational weather vs. Owner weather Bi-lingual? Large forecast region Less time spent truly forecasting Understanding geographic influences Public access to weather information TV - Internet - Phone/Tablet Apps Perception vs. True Impact Lack of aviation knowledge Forecast Product Discrepancies Internal/External
