3 3 Program Recruitment Targets  Industry Personnel—skills training or upgrading  Information Technology (IT) career/workforce candidates interested in the Web-Network Technology area  Current ECC students—augment their chosen program with an IT specialty General Studies majors CS majors as general or approved electives Others

4 4 Program Description  State-of-the-art Web network technology Network fundamentals Distributed and client-server architectures Interactive dynamic multimedia human- computer interfaces and presentations Relevant development tools and languages Complete end-to-end Web technology spectrum from multimedia user clients to information servers

5 5 Program Competencies  Web-Based Clients: client-side design, development, testing, debugging  Distributed Applications: server-side design, development, testing, debugging  Networking: intranets or internets  Tools, Languages, Approaches: Use leading “industry standard” development tools Programming, scripting, markup languages Object-oriented design and programming  Industry Realism: Web-Net technology applications, internets, intranets, extranets, development practices and procedures, standards, ethics, security  Team Projects: work as team member to perform software engineering projects for intranet or Internet Web site (design, develop, test, debug)

7 7 Web-Network Technology Certificate Program  Modification to the Web-Net Tech Program was made to enable students to qualify for financial aid Increased the total credit hours for the program from the original 19 hours to a minimum of 24 hours, as required  Modification submitted to SUNY in September 2003  Subsequently modified again in early January 2004 based on feedback from SUNY See the next vugraph for latest version  STATUS: Officially approved by SUNY
