5 How UO Works: The Term System Fall, winter, spring terms 10 weeks of classes, 11 th week is exams Exams and assignments throughout term

6 One Academic School Year Spring Early April to Mid June Winter Early January to Mid March Fall Late September to Early December Final Papers and Tests Syllabus Exams Assignments

7 How UO Works: The Term System Summer term is different There are different sessions Classes can be 1, 4, or 8 weeks long Classes and academic deadlines happen faster

8 How UO Works Attend ALL classes, participation important Keep up on assignments and readings Studying and class time = about 8 hrs/day

9 ALL International Students Attend full-time: Take at least 12 credits per term (Most courses are 4 credits) Maintain good academic standing: At least a 2.0 GPA (C average)
