What is Watson? Watson is an information access assistant that automatically retrieves useful information in the context of an ongoing task. Watson integrates with existing applications in order to gain access to documents users are manipulating. The system analyzes the user’s active document in the application in which it is being manipulated in order to compute a representation of her current work context.

Representation is then form queries to multiple online information repositories. Then system collects the results of the queries, sorts and filters them, and presents them to the user in a separate window. Essentially Watson provides users with an awareness of online resources that may be useful in the context of current task.

With the use of Watson no need to go to search box. Watson understands the context of what you are working on. And will automatically find relevant results for you in real time. Watson allows its users to engage in a context aware conversation about the information it accesses on behalf of the user. Users can select regions of text within the current document on which they would like the system to focus.

Watson understands the context of what you are doing, finds relevant information and automatically brings it to you in a flexible sidebar. You don’t have to leave what you are doing to go search somewhere else. Because Intellext think your technology should serve you, and not the other way around.

Application adapters interface with existing applications to extract the content of the user’s current document. Watson’s context analyzers then perform a statistical analysis of the document the user is currently manipulating in the context of how it is being presented in the user’s application. Its query producers formulate queries to information retrieval systems that retrieve related documents. These queries are sent to a variety of information sources, each accessed via an information adapter. The results are returned, analyzed further, and presented to the user.

Watson Understands Internet Explorer Mozilla firefox Microsoft World Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Outlook

Watson Searches Web search engines, News sites, Blogs, Shopping sites Desktop search applications(MSN,Yahoo!, Google, x1, paperPort ) Subscription services (forrester, Gartner, IDC,etc.) Enterprise information systems (Microsoft SharePoint sites, etc) Wherever else you tell it to look!

Watson is smart, but has no memory. Your privacy is extremely important to Intellext. Watson neither stores nor transmits personal information. Intellext don’t track the links you click, or the pages you view, so information about what you are looking at never comes back to Intellext.

System Requirements and Software Compatibility Watson is 7MB and requires: 13MB on disk Windows 2000, XP, Windows Server 2003 512MB of RAM or greater 766MHz CPU or greater A broadband Internet connection is highly recommended

Watson works with Microsoft Word XP, 2003, and 2007 Microsoft PowerPoint XP, 2003, and 2007 Microsoft Outlook XP, 2003, and 2007 Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2000 when used with Windows 2000 Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher (including IE 7) Mozilla Firefox 1.04 and higher (including Firefox 2) MSN Search Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search (or Live Toolbar, or just plain WDS) Yahoo! Desktop Search Google Desktop Search X1 Desktop Search PaperPort All-in-One Search

Will Watson work with internet explorer in Windows vista? Internet Explorer in Windows Vista runs in "Protected Mode" by default, which prevents other applications from integrating directly with the browser. Turn off protected mode and allow Watson to integrate with Internet Explorer.

Benefits to Enterprise ROI = Reuse of Information. Save time and money by driving information re-use. Significantly increase usage of internal knowledge systems. Provide employees with a better and faster way to find the information they need.
