2 Your Name Date Abstract Abstracts are short statements that clearly and concisely articulate the purpose of a manuscript and its relevant parts. If the abstract represents a theoretical article focus the reader on how the theoretical notions are linked through the literature to propose the ideas and hypotheses contained in the theory. If the abstract represents an empirical article then focus the reader on the purpose of the study, relevant literature, the method, the findings, and the discussion. Abstracts require good editing to maintain the 150-250 word limit. See Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 2010, p. 25-27 Cite the full reference in APA format
