2. What’s New for 2008 in Disease Control?  New fungicide labels –Indar 2F (fenbuconazole) now registered for use on apple –Adament 50 WG (tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin) now registered for use on Peach and nectarine Cherry

3. What’s New for 2008 in Disease Control?  New footnotes, bearing apple orchards –p. 68, 7 th and 8 th cover sprays, footnote 3 on Pristine: “Use of Pristine at this time may reduce the amount of postharvest rot.” –p. 70, postharvest disease control, new footnote on Scholar 50W: reduced rate (6 oz in 25–100 gal) for blue mold and gray mold control now permissible in MD, VA, and WV

What’s New for 2008 in Disease Control?  New footnote, p. 32, Table 2 (risk classes) –Apple scab isolates show a shift toward resistance to both SIs and strobilurins –Rotate, use tank mixes, and limit applications!  Rally 40WSP replaces Nova 40W –Same a. i. 21. Heads Up Launch of Belt 480SC (flubendiamide) expected in 2008 Same class as Altacor Excellent activity against lepidopteran larvae Will need to be careful about using Altacor and Belt consecutively, or perhaps in the same season

Heads Up EPA is conducting a risk assessment of endosulfan (Thionex) and assumes there is some occupational risk associated with its use in apple Apple industry could lose this product if EPA concludes that the benefits from its use are low USApple has solicited feedback and will respond to EPA

24. Important Reminder Imidan is very susceptible to degradation in alkaline water Ensure that spray water is at PH 6.5 or lower Vinegar can be used to buffer water, but effect is temporary
