2 Description of YEA Mission Statement: “The Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA) is a non-profit company dedicated to supporting teens at risk for criminal behavior to turn their lives around through business ownership, job training, financial education, and academic support. We work with teens to build the skills they need to attain long-term economic independence.”

3 Description of YEA (Cont’d) Programmatic Structure: –Two staff members –3 Massachusetts Vocational High Schools –Student-Run Businesses: Landscaping, Computer Design, Home Improvement –25-40 students per business; 200 students per workshop program

4 Situation YEA’s potential stakeholders increasingly demand performance metrics. YEA staff needs a system of performance measurement in order to evaluate programmatic efficacy and growth. Problem Definition

5 Problem Definition (Cont’d) Complications YEA currently employs few quantifiable performance metrics. YEA currently does not use a formal system of data collection. YEA staff has limited time and resources available for performance assessment.
