4 ◦ Use infinitives or gerunds when talking about the purpose of something.  I use my computer to study every night.  I use my computer for studying every night. ◦ Use gerunds for objects when talking about purpose, not for people.  I went to the gun store for buying a gun.  I went to the gun store to buy a gun.
