DIFFICULT QUESTIONS POSSIBLE ANSWERS

What makes the reindeer fly? Many years ago, long before your grandparents were even born, I and the elves found a magic recipe for Reindeer food of oats and corn which made them fly. Now, on one special day, the magical food is fed to each of the reindeer just before they leave on Christmas Eve. They can then magically fly around the world in the twinkle of an eye; as fast as the speed of Christmas light.

How do you get in my home on Christmas…we do not have a chimney? Well, my little friend… I happen to have this magical key I keep in my pocket just for homes like yours. It can open any door, but only on Christmas, so don’t you fret I will be there at Christmas.

This year I am spending Christmas at my grandma’s house. How will you know where she lives? Now don’t you worry, my head elf Alfonzo has a magic snowball that allows him to see where every good boy and girl are on Christmas Eve and if you are not at home he lets me know where I need to go.

I did not get everything I wanted last year at Christmas, was it because I was not good all year? No one can be good all the time my little friend, but it is important to try to be as good as possible. The reason I did not bring everything on your list is because if I did…you would have nothing to dream about and long for this Christmas. It is hard to appreciate gifts if you have everything you want.

How do you get all those toys on your sleigh? The elves sprinkles magic dust on all the gifts and they shrink to the size of a pea. All I have to do is blow a kiss on the gifts after they are under your tree and the magic dust disappears as the toys grow back to life size.

There is a kid at my school that told me there was no such thing as Santa Claus. Is that true? Well, I believe you know the answer already. After all you believed enough to ask me, therefore you must believe. Sometimes in life you must just rely on faith alone. As long as you believe you will keep the magic of Christmas alive.

How do you travel around the whole world in just one day? On Christmas Eve Zorto, the time elf, stops the clock of time and enables time stands still. Along with special eggnog prepared by Mrs. Claus that gives me extra energy and lighting speed I am able to do it all in one night.

How did you know what I wanted last year at Christmas? I did not send you a list or talk to you at the mall... Well, I have several ways of knowing…just like I know if you have been good or bad. You never know when I might be around the corner listening to you and your little friends.

Santa why do you wear that red suit? I guess for the same reason you where your favorite shirt… I like red! I need something warm because it gets quite chilly soaring through the sky at night.

Do you have any kids? Why of course I do…all the children of the world I love just like they were my own children. Why else would I spend so much time bringing joy to kids?

I have a new baby brother this year. He does not play with toys yet. How will you know what to bring him? He already has the best gift, your love and companionship. I am sure I can find the perfect gift he will enjoy. Maybe you can help him learn how to play with the toys I bring.

I would like to leave something special for your reindeers this year along with your milk and cookies, but I don’t know what they eat. Many children are not as thoughtful as you are. I must say, I do enjoy those cookies each year and I am sure my reindeer would love to have a carrot, celery, or even an apple.

Why don’t you ever bring Mommy or Daddy Christmas presents? Well my dear, I am teaching you and other children that it is also important to give not just receive at Christmas. I could never give your parents a gift they would love as much as something you made with your very own hands.

Every year I ask you for a dog and you never bring me one. Will you bring me one this year? A pet is not only a gift for one person it is a gift for the whole household and everyone must want one. A dog can not truly be happy if he is not loved by all. Puppies require a lot of time… you have to walk them, train them, feed them and still have time to do all the other things you do in your busy schedule. Many people also do not have the proper living arrangements to care for a puppy so it is best to leave that gift up to Mom and Dad.

Why don’t you want kids to see you putting the gifts under the tree? I would never finish delivering all my gifts if I stopped and talked to all the wonderful little boys and girls if there were up waiting for me, now would I? As you know, it is important children get their rest, especially on Christmas Eve…they need that extra energy to play with all their new toys.

Why do you live at the North Pole? The elves and reindeer need a cold environment to live in they do not like the heat. The North Pole is a perfect place for elves and reindeer with all the snow to play in. The reindeer need a soft snow to practice landing when they learn to fly and the elves love to make snow ice cream every night before they are tucked into bed.

How old are you? I am ageless like the wind and as long as you keep the magic of Christmas alive in your heart I will never age.

What color are you? Color is simply that…a color. I am whatever you want to see. Just like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so am I. Color is of little importance…it is love that really matters.

Do you smoke a pipe? Years and years ago I did… before I discovered it was bad for your health. So never ever smoke my little friend, I need you to be healthy for years to come.

My big brother is over seas in the army how will he be able to come home for Christmas? Your brother is a very brave man and he is looking out for all of us as he serves his country, you must be very proud of him. Even if your brother is not able to come home for Christmas this year he will there in your heart. I think I will have to find him an extra special gift this year too, and not to worry my little friend, I will have no problem finding him on Christmas Eve.

Where do elves come from? Elves have been here at the North Pole as long as I have, but they originated on a little iceberg called Alurah.

Why is Rudolf’s nose red? Everything and everyone in this vast world is born different and unique. What we might think is a fault like a red nose or big ears might turn out to be a blessing or asset to who we are. It is what makes each of us special and adds character to everyone. What a boring world this would be if everyone looked just the same or act just the same.

Is there Christmas in heaven? My daddy died last year and I want to send him a gift. Why of course there is Christmas in heaven! The best gift you can give is love and it is the easiest gift to give too… all you have to do is feel it in your heart and you Daddy will receive it.

Why don’t I see Santa, or hear him come in even though we have a security system? I use all of my Christmas knowledge, and my unlimited supply of covert intelligence gained from elves to come and go in silent, undetectable movements, despite a high level of security. And this also lets me know when you are sleeping or awake.

How does Santa know what every kid in the world wants for Christmas? The elves and I use a highly sophisticated computer system of name directories and want and wish databases, which are created when a child expresses a desire in certain items. Then throughout the year the data is collected and updated. Once Christmas is close at hand these databases are then checked against Santa’s Naughty or Nice List.

Does Santa get presents for Christmas? Through the years of traveling, I have gained many friends. With close ties to a select group of individuals we all keep in touch and get together for a gift exchange at my vacation home in Florida shortly before I return to the North Pole for the Holiday Season. It is the friends and family that make Christmas the most popular holiday of the year, and my friends realize that. So even though I work hard at Christmas, my friends are there to give me support.

What kind of car do you drive when you are on vacation? I own many cars. But most of all I like the feel of the breeze through my hair. That is why after all these years I still uses my trusty sleigh, instead of a much more popular SUV (Santa Utility Vehicle). But to answer your question… when weather permitting, I prefer my Harley- Davidson V-rod.

Why didn’t I get what I asked for last year? I was good. I Know what you would like to have, and at the same time knows what your parents would like to have. Sometimes there are gifts that your parents would rather you did not receive. You see I have many lists besides the Naughty or Nice List and must spend a lot of time looking at your Christmas wish list and compare it to the other lists your name appears on. After an intense analytical deliberation over all of the lists, I then decide what gifts to give.

Do you ever get air sick? Not anymore. But when I first learned to fly my sleigh, oh so long ago …flying was new, there were no airplanes or hot air balloons, I was the only one who was able to fly……so I’m not sure if it was butterflies from the excitement or if it was air sickness, but my stomach would feel queasy. But I have been doing this for so long now that flying doesn’t bother in the least bit.
